Hi there.
I have a question and wasn't sure whether to put this under episodes or characters.
Putting aside for a moment some of the more fantastic elements of this series (which I know is most of it!), I’ve always been interested in what Tony actually does when he’s not flying an aeroplane, going up into space, training for a mission in some kind of flight simulator or similar equipment (or having some kind of adventure with Jeannie of course!). A lot of it seems to involve writing reports, doing calculations and filing paperwork. The number of scenes that involve Tony, Roger or Dr Bellows walking in and saying something like, “Here is the report on such-and-such.†Or “I just wanted to drop off the new figures on something-or-other.â€
Does anyone know if this is in any way an accurate depiction of what an astronaut actually does (or rather used to do back in the ‘60s)? How does the average astronaut spend his or her day when they’re not up in space. What are these mystical figures and reports that are always being carried around in light brown folders? Is there any accuracy to this or was it all just filler?
It’s a serious question. Does anyone know the answer?

Good question suzie, I have always wondered that too. I hope someone has an answer. That is interesting to find out. Can't wait to hear the answer or at least a speculation.

I've always wondered how accurate their depiction of an astronaut was too... I'm really not sure! I'd like to know though.
