I don't know about you but I love this episode. Especially the part when Roger meets Jeannie's "parents." This part always cracks me up:
Jeannie's dad: Why don't you come and sit here next to Jeannie.
Roger: Won't that be a little...crowded?
Jeannie's mom: We're not afraid of crowds. We're protected for twenty-four hours.
LOL! And Tony's famous line: Roger, when I say there's an empty lot across the street I mean there's a house on it! ;D

hee hee... yeah it's a cute first season episode. I love how she blinks her parents out of a commercial! It's kind of funny when you think about it that Roger was head over heels in love with Jeannie for a while there, and then his feelings just went away... hee hee. And Tony's delivery of that line is perfect.

As for Roger, I don't think he was 'in love' with Jeannie in the way that Tony was by Season 5... Roger falls 'in love' quite easily (we can see from many episodes that Roger's definition of 'in love' is rather... loose, shall we say), and while he was indeed rather infatuated with Jeannie - more so than he was with a lot of other girls - that was probably because Jeannie was so... lovable and refreshingly direct! (In contrast to the devious, complex, sometimes manipulative nature of a lot of other girls shown in IDOJ.) Sure, Roger liked Jeannie lots, but I doubt he ever felt as strongly for her as Tony did.

Oh no, I agree. No one loved Jeannie as much as Tony did, and Roger knew that. But from Roger's definiton of love, he was "in love" with Jeannie I think for a while there. I like how in the series (especially near the end) you could see a friendship bond between Jeannie and Roger as well as Tony and Roger. You could tell that the three of them cared very deeply about each other, and for me, that's another reason why the show is so enjoyable to watch. It's nice to see the value of friendship, and how far you're willing to go to remain friends with that person, keep their secrets, and keep them out of trouble. I think the show represents that in some ways.

Roger's, Tony's, and, to a different but equivalent extent, Jeannie's willingness to help each other out of trouble, even if it meant sticking their own necks on the line. And right from the beginning the trio (Roger, Tony, and Jeannie) had a special bond and dynamic that made IDOJ so lovable.

I loved this episode - I loved how Dr Bellows kept finding people sitting in his vacant lot. Tony's sitting there drinking tea and he says something like, "I like to commune with nature." Then he finishes the tea and just throws the cup and saucer over his shoulder. I was laughing for ages at that.

Jeannies "dad": My wifes hands are as soft as we first met
Jeannies "mom": oh yes, me and my daughter have been using the same kind of lotion for years
Jeannies "dad": both of their hands feel the same would you care to make a sample??
