I'm not a big fan of this episode - got tired of hearing "Tough luck, Charlie" every few minutes and the fact that Jeannie couldn't help save Tony. Yet, honourable mention should go to this episode in my opinion, for one reason and one reason only: Roger's line at the end which has to be one of the sweetest and most telling lines of the whole series. Having been temporarily made Jeannie's master so that he can then order her to rescue Tony, Roger reluctantly gives the bottle back to Tony, saying, "Here Tony. I guess she could never really be mine."
In my opinion there was never a truer word spoken!

On that note though, how fickle is Roger? After getting hold of her in 'The Richest Astronaut In The Whole Wide World', when she gets him into trouble he can't wait to be rid of her - and ditto in the following episode. Then in the episodes following he keeps trying to get hold of her again and expects Tony to lend her to him occasionally and getting angry when he doesn't. He gives her back at the end of 'Jeannie and the Kidnap Caper' and acknowledges that he will never replace Tony as Jeannie's master. Then, in season two's 'How To Be A Genie In Ten Easy Lessons' Roger is all scheming to be her master again. Make up your mind, Roger!
Incidentally, did all of Roger's feelings for Jeannie just vanish? Before he discovered she was a genie, he was all in love with her and wanted to marry her. Did those feelings just disappear? Also, wasn't Roger the slightest bit annoyed that Tony had lied to him and that Tony had something going on with her instead? I don't think we saw this- or perhaps I missed it. I mean, he was angry that Tony never told him that he had a genie, but what about everything else?
