Welcome Melvin. You're not the only one thinking that the audio commentary was somewhat 'boring'...I wish they could have given us more inside info on that particular episode but I enjoyed listening to it nevertheless and I loved the "out of the bottle" feature. It was good to see Barbara, Larry and Bill in one room and interact with each other. They make a great team, even after all these years...just wonderful.
As for the extras, I couldn't agree more, Melvin, as I've stated before, I'd love to see bloopers, a tribute to some of the dead actors, behind the scenes stuff, biographies, filmographies, older interviews etc on a Season 4 or 5.
Patterson, I'm sure Sony would listen to the fans if it means that they may sell more DVDs because they also have great features on them, no?! I know that features should not be the only reason for fans to buy the DVD but from experience I know that the DVDs with 'good' features sell better than the ones without plus I've heard many complaints about IDOJ Season 2 having no extras at all...why doesn't Sony ask Larry Hagman about his home movies and if he'd be willing to give them to them so they can put some of it on Season 4 or 5?
Yes, I agree with Melvin...Patterson, I'm sure that the box art is perfect seeing how you've done such a wonderful job on the IDOJ website.

Hello everybody, I'm a HUGE fan of IDOJ since 1999 and I'm thrilled to have found a message board for this amazing show. Also it's really exciting to see that the S3 DVDs are on the way. I already have S1 and S2 and I can't wait to complete my IDOJ collection. And thanks to Patterson for all the inside info.

As long as we have some nice features that'll be ok with me...I hope Patterson can relay some of these messages to Sony so they can see how fans feel about this, I bet that more people would purchase the DVD sets if they had a great set of features which would result in more sales and more profit...

I know everyone goes on and on about "dvd extras" but my number one priority reason for buying the collections (other than that I love the show) is that they are restored to their original uncut length I don't think I've even watched the documentary on the first set (sacrilege! lol) What I would most definitely like to see Sony do is to make some kind of additional package for the reunion movies (I am not that enamored of watching them again, but i know there are plenty of fans that have never seen them) and the 16-episode Hanna-Barbera cartoon "Jeannie". If Sony didn't own the rights to IDoJ, then the cartoon would have been shown on Boomerang or Cartoon Network by now. I don't know why, but there is one Scooby-Doo Movie that has them meeting Jeannie and Babu, and it gets aired, so there's no telling what the "rights" issue is there. The only other thing I could see them releasing (or would like to see them do) is the unaired pilot for the show. Put all three of these other IDoJ items into their own four to five disk set and you would likely sell just as many sets as the season sets, thanks to "collectors" I can't think of any other "extras" that haven't been mentioned, but the above are certainly ones I would very much like to see. There are horrible-quality copies of the cartoons around on the net, and one animator that used to work at HB Studios (though not on the Jeannie cartoon) at one time sold copies of the series, but has since stopped due to people reselling them on eBay. I know he also did the graphics and cartoons of the more recent IDoJ board game as well as some preliminary work on an updated cartoon that never made it past that stage. Maybe you can get permission from him (if that's necessary) to use some of those cartoons on the packages, too I do look forward to seeing your work, too, as I know you are an accomplished graphic artist namaste Eric

Wait, there was an un-aired pilot?!

Yes, there was an "unaired" pilot. I always thought that was just someone's idea of the original pilot without the knowledge that it was simply "The Pilot." But the one I got as part of a complete set (recorded off of TVLand as it turned out, but of excellent quality other than being cut) is most definitely a version that was not aired as there are scenes that are not in the "original". The quality is only fair, but not as bad as some copies from tape that I've seen (and own.) Try iOffer.com and see if you can get it by itself. If so, you could probably get away with only paying a few dollars since it would likely only be on one disk... I don't know if Sony would ever include it as part of a package, unless they were also convinced to include some kind of "bloopers" reel. There are certainly a few scenes where the actors either didn't quite know what to do next or ad-libbed and it was left in the pilot. I would guess this was the final cut that was shown to the NBC execs as part of their pitch (or however they did it back then...) It was later edited down to airplay length as everything else seems exactly the same. Hope that helps namaste Eric

This doesn't have much to do with the Season 3 DVD, but why are there so few videos of barbara eden and/or Jeannie on www.YouTube.com? Other celebs have more, but there aren't many for Barbara. Soooo, if you have an interview or performance or anything of Barbara Eden on tape, put it on youtube! As of now, she isn't very well represented by her fans yet on this site...

I clicked on the photobucket link and I absolutely loved the Jeannie pictures! I have looked all over the Internet for really good IDoJ photos and was pleasantly surprised when I found them! Great work to whoever put them together!!! ~JeannieII

I'm new to the site and haven't really heard anything about when the third season will be coming out. Does anybody have any news on that? Also, what is the cover going to look like?
