This is a note to you the fans that I Dream of Jeannie The Complete 3rd Season will be released on DVD. The exact date has yet to be set however I am currently working with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment on the DVD packaging for the set. Unlike seasons one and two, season three will be much more visually appealing and will no doubt make the fans of I Dream of Jeannie very happy. You can also look forward to reading my episode synopsis which I am writing for Sony as we 'speak.'
So, no worries! There will be a Season 3 and more than likely the final two seasons as well. I will post more information as it becomes available. Including the preproduction art for the packaging once I am allowed by Sony.

Thanks Patterson. I can't wait to see the cover art. I liked the cover art from S1 and S2 so if you say that S3 is going to be much better it must be really sensational..then again they picked the right person for the job...you're very good at graphics.

Very good news. I was hoping that they would release the 3rd season by the end of the year. And I agree with BSDDomi, the cover art is really amazing.

The cover art of Season 2 actually is crap. The negative was reversed and her harem scarf is draped over the wrong shoulder. The person who was in charge of that season didn't give two drachmas about I Dream of Jeannie. The individual I am working with absolutely loves I Dream of Jeannie and together we're gonna make sure it looks 100 times better then both the first and second season sets.

Perfect, P. So if that person loves IDOJ and works at Sony I hope he or she can speak for the IDOJ fans so we get seasons 4-5 on DVD as well and maybe the reunion movies and the cartoon?

Any idea if there will be any special features on Season 3's DVD or any of the future seasons? At this point there is no telling if any extra features will be added to the fourth and fifth season DVD sets. As for Season three, there is nothing extra added.

Oh well... Lets hope for the best with the fourth and fifth season DVD's. Someone on the "TV Land" message board (Donna) had a great idea for a special feature. Larry Hagman had shot some home movies on the I dream of Jeannie Set...they give a behind the scenes look at IDOJ. I think that would be awesome to see on one of the DVD's. The footage is probably silent, so they could possibly add some audio commentary along with the picture...I'm sure Barbara, Larry, Bill, and Sidney would have a lot to say when they see old behind the scenes footage! If it's too much trouble to get a commentary done, it would still be neat to see the footage with music or something...
What do you guys think? Patterson, do you have any way of giving suggestions to the appropriate person at Sony?...

Yes, I've already mentioned the home movies in the other thread..I know I would love to see them on S4 or S5..I remember emailing Larry's webteam a long time ago about this and asked them if Larry still had them, then I read that he was taking them with to the event in TX ...so I hope they relayed the message to him and he knows that the fans would love to have them on DVD...and yes, Patterson, if by any chance you can ask the people at Sony if they would talk to Larry about giving them his home movies to put on DVD and them doing an audio commentary or so that would be nice...that would be a wonderful feature...that alone I'm sure would give Sony more buyers...since it's a unique feature...I also would love to see a tribute to the dead actors such as Hayden Rorke, Emmaline Henry and others...I had the feeling in the last audio commentary that Larry, Barbara and Bill had fond memories of Hayden so maybe they'd be happy to talk about him...

Yes they do, in 2007. I can't say the exact date yet. Let me make sure I'm allowed to first. And if we're all very good kids, I may be able to show you guys some of the box art. I'll have to find out. Right now there are 10 different versions in the works... ultimately only one will be used... But they all look GREAT! -P

Thanks Patterson. I've always been a very good kid ...looking forward to your updates. Too bad we have to wait until 2007 I was hoping I could get a copy of Season 3 before Christmas ...let's hope we'll get season 4 and 5 as well and won't have to wait that long...

Thanks for the information. That's too bad that they'll not release it in 2006. But I guess I can wait another month or so I would love to see some versions of the new box art! Can't wait.

Hello everyone! I just wanted to express my fondness for the show. Awhile ago I NEVER would have thought that this show would make it back to dvd, but when everyone got on that train, I could only hope. But now that it's out, you know I got the two first seasons! The comentary on the pilot episode, although pleasing to hear the beloved cast members together once more, felt a bit shallow. I'm sorry to say that but it did. I was expecting a bit more insight from them onj the different scenes. The featturete was alot better and I hope Sony will bring them back even more in the next releases. How cool would it be if they would be brought back in a featturete every season to talk about each of the seasons? ;D I read from above that the third season will come out sometime in 2007. I was hoping it would come at least in December, since they're are ALOT of fans out there just waiting to get their hands on it....me included For the most part, what's missing in the dvd collection are extras (commentaries, behind the scene footage etc.) Perhaps Sony doesn't know how much of an audience the show has or the cast members don't know just how much they are missed. The dvd collections will sell alot more if more extras were included. By the way, Mr. Patterson, I can't wait to see your new art on the box!!!
