IDOJ "references" on other shows

I was watching my collection of Golden Girls DVD's and I saw several "references" to IDOJ. ;D

A couple of times Sidney Sheldon was mentioned.

Dorothy- "Hurry up, Rose. Even Sidney Sheldon tells shorter stories."
Rose to Blanche- "One time I read your diary. ....I was 7 pages in before I realized it wasn't a Sidney Sheldon novel."

Barbara Eden was mentioned once.

Sophia- ....What do you want me to do, show up with Barbara Eden and the All-American football team?"

And Cocoa Beach and astrounauts were mentioned.

Blanche- "I know a place in Cocoa Beach where we can pick up over the hill astronauts."

So far those are all I have since I only have Seasons 1-4, I'm sure I will find more later. I thought you would enjoy those. I sure did. ;D

They sang the IDOJ theme on "Friends" once and Phoebe did the Jeannie blink.

Also, on Will and Grace Jack entered his newly remodeled apartment and said "Oh my gosh this is better than Jeannie's bottle!" hee hee...

I remembered another one, I don't remember what show it was from, I think According to Jim but I'm not sure, anyway the character was talking about some things he did and one of the ones he said was "I even harem danced like I Dream of Jeannie". It was funny. ;D I wish I could just remember what show it was.

On another forum, there have been discussions of a cartoon program called "The Farily Odd Parents" on Nickelodeon and there are indirect references to IDOJ and Barbara Eden when the episode is centered around a character called "Norm the Genie".

In one episode, they showed a bottle that is shaped like Jeannie's next to a lava lamp where Norm was captured and the Genie's lamp from Aladdin. In a different episode, the circular couch with pillows just like the inside of Jeannie's bottle was used as the inside of Norm's lamp and at one point, Norm meets two other girl genies and one of them is dressed like Jeannie.

There is also a character on that show named Denzel Crocker that is basically Dr. Bellows in cartoon form...and a little more neurotic. LOL. ;D
